This project is a study into different ways of bringing play back into public space. It focuses on ways of incorporating incidental play in the public realm by not so much as having separate play equipment that dictates the users but by using existing furniture and architectural elements that indicate playful behaviour for all.

Come on now. Some of these tricks are so amazing we don't know what to believe. Our plans to become pool sharks have been put on hold on account of 1) Seeing the competition in this video and 2) Not being able to hit a cue ball straight. It's a short list, but the obstacles seem insurmountable right now.

An Annie Lennox reference? What's it to you? Maybe we like that song. Anyway, watch these guys run across a pool of liquid. From the clip: "They filled a pool with a mix of cornstarch and water made on a concrete mixer truck. It becomes a non-newtonian fluid. When stress is applied to the liquid it exhibits properties of a solid." Mythbusters and Brainiac also did variations on this fun experiment.

Welcome to QuietVideo, a video blog with a purpose. Put simply, we post internet videos that are easy to watch without sound.
Why? We do it for the people on mobile devices, we do it for the people in offices, we do it for the people listening to music, and we do it for reasons that we probably haven't encountered. (Okay, so those first three were all us.)
Many of the videos we cover have sound because, well, we didn't make them. As we scoop up video roadkill from across the information superhighway, we make sure that the videos we post are fun and interesting without needing sound. Seems simple, right? It is.
